Leigh Beck Junior School’s Breakfast Club has been running since September 2010. To enhance this provision we are pleased to announce the opening of an After School Club in September 2014. The clubs will provide after school care and breakfast facilities for a number of children on a regular basis.
The Breakfast and After School Clubs can now cater for up to 50 children and offer facilities and activities for 3 to 11 year olds. The clubs are registered with Ofsted (EO1021491)
The clubs are situated in `The Zone’ within the Junior School building and have access to the playground in fair weather, with outdoor play equipment, a variety of apparatus, as well as a wide range of indoor equipment and facilities.
Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am to 8.40am during term time and provides a choice of breakfast for the children, which includes: toast, crumpets and pancakes with a variety of toppings, a variety of cereals, eggs, yoghurts, fruit and a drink. For full details of the menu please click on the below link.
The Breakfast Club follows a structured yet flexible plan which provides an opportunity for children to socialise and play together before school, whilst also providing them with breakfast.
Children have access to a range of resources in a nurturing environment including art and craft, construction toys, board games and computer games.
Breakfast Club Charges: £2.50 per session.
The After School Club runs from 3.10pm to 5.15pm. The children are provided with a snack. The choices available are: jacket potato, pizza and sandwiches. For full details of the menu please click on the below link.
The After School Club offers structured yet flexible play, with the opportunity for pupils to work on their homework at the school’s homework club with the support of trained school Learning Support Assistants.
Many resources are available for the children, such as: arts and crafts, games, Wii, DVDs, books, construction toys and cooking. Children are also able to play football, netball and outdoor games on the playground as well as using the activity trail.
The Clubs provide a fun and stimulating environment for all children between 7.45am and 5.15pm, during term time as well as providing surroundings which ensure children are cared for in a healthy, safe and secure environment. Our very experienced and caring staff ensure the successful nurturing environment.
After School Club Charges: £3.00 per hour/part hour or £6.00 for the whole session 3.10pm - 5.15pm.
Letters are sent out at the start of each term with a list of all the clubs available to children. Children indicate their choices on this letter and hand it in to their class teacher or sign up at the break time and after school 'sign up' sessions led by the school office team. We endeavour to provide every child with a club, should they wish to participate in one. Such clubs are currently a range of sports, led by specialist coaches, and a homework club led by Learning Support Assistants.
We offer a range of lunchtime clubs and children sign up for these each term, or can choose to attend through the choice of activities offered each day to all children. Children can attend sports, art, dance, drama, reading, Splat and games clubs across the week. Reading, Splat and games clubs are offered daily in 'The Hub', along with another quiet and creative activity in 'The Zone'. Our outside area offers two playgrounds, two fields, nature areas and a beautiful quiet seated area, so children have a lot of highly supervised space to explore and to relax or to play in with their friends.
All children registered at Leigh Beck After School Club will have guaranteed access to Northwick Park Primary School’s Holiday Clubs. This can be arranged directly with Northwick Park Primary School on 01268 684554. This partnership ensures that childcare is available for 51 weeks of the year.
